Environmental education

In the Otago region, we are all responsible for protecting and safeguarding our natural environment and resources, including our water, our air, and our coastline.

ORC's environmental education programme aims to teach people how natural environments function and, particularly how human beings can manage their behaviour and ecosystems to live sustainably.

It encourages:

  • Awareness of the environment and environmental challenges
  • The development of skills to confront these challenges
  • The fostering of attitudes, motivation, and commitments to make informed decisions and take responsible action.
