Regional Transport and Public Transport Planning

The Otago Regional Council is responsible for planning an affordable, integrated, safe, responsive and sustainable land transport system in the Otago region.

The council :

  • prepares a Regional Land Transport Strategy,
  • develops the Regional Land Transport Programme,
  • administers the Regional Land Transport Committee as it develops the strategy and programme,
  • advocates for the land transport needs of the region by making submissions to the Government, and
  • prepares a Regional Public Transport Plan.

Regional Passenger Transport Plan for Otago 2008

Policy and specifications for the urban bus services contracted in Otago. The Regional Public Transport Plan, which is in development, will replace this document when it is completed. Public consultation on this plan will take place.
