Dunedin bus services update

From 1 July a number of changes take place in the operators delivering Dunedin's bus services, but timetables remain unchanged.

Otago Road Services is the new contractor for daytime services on Lookout Point, Opoho, Pine Hill and Shiel Hill routes.

Dunedin Passenger Transport is the new contractor on the daytime services on Balaclava, Bay Cemetery/Ocean Grove, Garden Village/Glenleith and Maori Hill/Prospect Park routes.

The Otago Regional Council's Director of Corporate Services, Wayne Scott, said Otago Road Services would honour Citibus tickets from Monday 1 July 2002 to Friday 12 July on the Lookout Point, Opoho, Pine Hill and Shiel Hill daytime services.

A cash refund can be claimed at the DCC Customer Services Centre in the Octagon for any existing tickets unable to be used up during the first fortnight. The refunds are available until 31 July.

Dunedin Passenger Transport will honour tickets issued while the emergency contract was in place over May and June for the daytime services on Balaclava, Bay Cemetery/Ocean Grove, Garden Village and Maori Hill routes, including those issued by Otago Road Services drivers on the Balaclava services.

Mr Scott said timetables remain as printed in the 2001/02 Otago Regional Council timetable booklet. Copies of the booklet are available from the Council offices at 70 Stafford Street, Dunedin or from the DCC Customer Service Centre in the Octagon.
