The Otago Regional Council has received applications from the Dunedin City Council for resource consents to undertake reclamation work at three locations in the coastal marine area between Vauxhall and Macandrew Bay, Otago Peninsula. The reclamations are part of a project to widen sections of the road along the Otago Peninsula to improve traffic safety, including bus manoeuvring at Glenfalloch. To allow for the road widening an existing boatshed at Macandrew Bay will be relocated.

To discharge contaminants to the coastal marine area for the purpose of reclamation activity, erection of seawall and deposition of rock material
Application No: RM10.391.02 – Coastal Permit
To occupy the coastal marine area with a seawall for the purpose of erosion protection
Application No: RM10.391.03 – Coastal Permit
To occupy the coastal marine area for the purpose of undertaking works associated with reclamation activity, erection of seawall and deposition of rock material
Application No: RM10.391.04 – Coastal Permit (Restricted Coastal Activity)
To reclaim part of the coastal marine area for the purpose of widening an existing road and relocating a boatshed.

To disturb the coastal marine area for the purpose of reclamation activity, erection of seawall and deposition of rock material

Site 1: Macandrew Bay, approximately 80 metres west northwest of the intersections of Marion Street and Portobello Road, Dunedin.

Site 2: Glenfalloch, starting at a point approximately 140 metres west of the intersection of Howard Street and Portobello Road, Macandrew Bay and continuing in a south westerly direction for approximately 250 metres.

Site 3: Doon Street, starting at a point approximately 95 metres north northwest of the intersection of Doon Street and Portobello Road, Vauxhall and continuing in a southerly direction for approximately 120 metres.
