The Otago Regional Council is working alongside the Ōamaru Community Shuttle Steering Group to survey people on a proposed once-a-day public transport service between Ōamaru and Dunedin. Have your say on this proposal.

This proposed service would be operated on full-size buses.

This service would be separate from the community shuttle.

The proposed service would likely operate once a day, seven days a week, from Ōamaru (North Ōamaru going via Central Ōamaru and South Ōamaru) to Dunedin and back to Ōamaru.

We’d like to know your thoughts about this proposed service.

Your feedback from this survey will be used to gauge potential demand and preferences such as departure times.

Survey closes 5pm, Wednesday 6 May.

What happens next

After the survey closes, our team will analyse the survey data and create a report in May.

This report will then be presented to Council in June. Along with this report of the survey results, Council will consider the Ōamaru Community Shuttle Steering Group's feedback, the possible cost of the service, fares and zones.

If the proposed service is approved by Council to go into operation, it would be in place before the end of 2026.
