Lauder Creek Water Field Day
Learn more about the water balance study, water storage data options, water quality, consents and minimum flows at Lauder Creek at the Rail Trail (north of Lauder on State Highway 85, look for ORC signage) Friday 4 December at 10am.
ORC fostering improved transport system

Rook control season in full swing
Spring is the time of year that ORC seeks help from the public in locating rooks and their nests in the Otago region. If you come across rooks or rookeries please contact Council who will investigate at no cost to you.

Successful ORC dairy farm project completed
Otago Regional Council's Dairy Focus Farm programme has been completed after six years of providing guidance to and sharing knowledge with dairy farmers on caring for the environment on their properties.

Council's Long Term Council Community Plan 2009-2019
ORC has released its 10 year plan. It details Council's activities and sets out performance targets and financial estimates for the next decade. Submissions closed on 1 May. You can download a copy of the plan below, or contact the ORC to request a hard copy or CD.

Otago Regional Land Transport Programme 2009-12
The Regional Land Transport Programme (RLTP) lists the land transport activities that the committee recommends receive payment from the national land transport fund administered by New Zealand Transport Agency (NZTA).

Clean Heat Clean Air Warm Home Assistance programme
The ORC Clean Heat Warm Home Assistance programme helps eligible homeowners pay for the cost of purchasing and installing insulation and ORC approved clean heating appliances such as heat pumps, pellet burners, flued gas and woodburners. The programme applies in the Airzone one towns - Alexandra, Clyde, Cromwell and Arrowtown and in Milton which is in Airzone two.

Proposed Plan Change 1 (Harbourside) to the Regional Plan: Coast
Otago Regional Council has adopted, and the Minister of Conservation has approved, Plan Change 1 (Harbourside) to the Regional Plan: Coast for Otago, which is operative on 1 December 2009.
