HEAD OF LAKE WAKATIPU

Thank you again for those who came along to our community event in December to discuss the natural hazards and dynamic environment of the head of Lake Wakatipu area. We appreciated the opportunity to listen to your experiences of natural hazards and observations from living in this area. We were also impressed with your knowledge of natural hazards and challenges faced by this area. The event provided for us a good foundation of mutual understanding, to progress together and discuss possible adaptation options for natural hazard challenges.

• How the natural hazards risks of the area are expected to change in the future, and how we will need to adapt to live with those changes.
• What these adaptations might look like. This will be a brainstorming session as a community, to discuss all possible options available and which ones might be most appropriate for the community.
