In our last edition, sent out mid-February, we provided a detailed update of projects and a forecast of the year ahead. This March edition is much smaller as we continue to progress toward the key May date to provide you and our council an update on the programme. This is almost a year after the June 2022 update when we released the major reports covering liquefaction and lateral spread and flooding.

May is also when we plan to visit Glenorchy again too, to update you on all findings and new information, and our plans for the next stages of the programme.

You can also get in touch if you have any other ideas about what to include in a plain-language summary of all the findings being produced at the moment. 

• Hazard mitigation or management approaches for liquefaction and lateral spreading; a high-level overview similar to the Damwatch November report which focused on flooding. 
• A flood hazard assessment study for the Buckler Burn, due to be completed May. 

• Damwatch floodplain report: identified a range of potential floodplain hazard management interventions for the Lower Rees River and Glenorchy township, The Dart floodplain and Kinloch access and The Rees floodplain and the Rees Bridge.
• Shepherds Hut Creek debris flow hazard – September 2022
• Tonkin + Taylor liquefaction report – June 2022
• Land River Sea Consulting Ltd flood hazard report – June 2022 (model results for a flooding scenario at Glenorchy shown below – these are coloured by floodwater depth).
• Tonkin + Taylor natural hazards assessment – March 2021
