Red tussock dominated wetland at the south-western edge of the large Schoolhouse Creek alluvial outwash fan. 90

Nevis Road, 23 km Northeast of Kingston.

A1 Habitat for nationally or internationally rare or threatened species or communities. Ranunculus ternatifolius (At Risk – Nationally Uncommon). 90
A2 - A9 No relevant information is currently held by the ORC.

 

Other Information:

  • Listed as an Area of Significant Indigenous Vegetation, Habitats of Indigenous Fauna and Wetlands in the Central Otago District Plan. 55

  • Presence of red tussock (Chionochloa rubra subsp. cuprea). The tussock is occupying sites where subterranean water merges on to the toe-slope of a terrace batter. 90

  • A small range of wetland herbs are present in the tussock understorey including the ‘At Risk’ buttercup Ranunculus ternatifolius. 90
