Environmental Data Officer

The Operations team at the Otago Regional Council are now on the lookout for database whizz to join their team, collating, analysing and reporting on environmental data coming in from colleagues in the field.

As an Environmental Data Officer, you will form a key link between our field staff and consents approval, environmental monitoring and strategic decision-making teams here at the ORC. Your contributions will be measured by the relevance of the data analyses you undertake, the quality of the information provided, and when reporting, the tailoring of your communications to suit the level of understanding of your audience.

Your day-to-day role will entail processing of field data, analysing and archiving it, and creating meaningful reports to enable decision making. In collaboration with your team, you will review and maintain quality assurance procedures, and liaise with the relevant laboratories or in-house teams to ensure data is viable and fit-for-purpose.

To succeed in this role, you will need to be a process oriented individual, with significant experience in databases, preferably those relating to environmental data.
