The Opportunity

Our Science team are looking to appoint a suitably qualified groundwater scientist to join them on a permanent, full time basis. The focus area of this role will be groundwater, so prior experience and/or a qualification in this field would be considered highly desirable.

About You

As a groundwater scientist, you will be an active contributor to the Council’s groundwater initiatives, providing data analysis, interpretation and reporting, and contributing at a strategic level to the development of management and monitoring strategies, policy planning and interpretation and technical review.

To be successful in this role, you will hold a tertiary qualification in Science, have sound knowledge of natural and physical resource sciences and a proven track-record in defining information needs, conducting analyses, and developing user-oriented reports. You will have a working understanding of the application of the Resource Management Act, and be confident presenting information to a wide variety of stakeholder groups.
