Manager Channels

At the Otago Regional Council, we are in the middle of an exciting process transforming how we engage with our communities, rate-payers, and internal stakeholders. We are putting a heightened focus on customer service, open engagement, and meaningful two-way conversations to ensure our decisions are informed and our customers are kept up-to-date.

To do all of this, we need strong people leaders to implement strategy and enable our people to act on it; this is where you come in. As a product of recent changes within the Stakeholder Engagement team, we are now on the lookout for a Manager Channels to lead and implement a channels strategy for ORC.

Communication and marketing is an ever-changing landscape, and we need someone who has a passion for remaining relevant in the face of evolving trends to lead and inform strategic organisational use of channels.

You will also be providing strategic oversight and leadership to the team who manage all of our channels; from web-based to graphic design, we have an in-house team of communication and marketing professionals ready to take our Stakeholder Engagement initiatives into the future.

Enough about us though; here’s what we need from you. A people leader through and through, you will be able to guide and empower your team to perform at their best, and in-turn take the channels approach of the ORC to the next level. With a passion for creative campaigns, digital media and innovation, we are looking for someone who can reach diverse audiences and creatively package up technical information in a way that educates and inspires. A strong understanding of advertising (digital and traditional), social media strategy, brand, publications, and online channels coupled with strong writing ability and attention to detail would put you in good standing for this role. You will be a change champion, ready to question the norm and make the significant operational improvements necessary to achieve our desired channels development.

What can we offer in return for your great-ness? Whilst we work hard, we know how to have fun too. You will be empowered to seek creative solutions and think outside of the box, and you will form part of a wider leadership team committed to taking ORC places. You will be supported in your efforts by your Director, peers and team, where no task is too challenging and no door left unopened. You will be remunerated competitively in line with your experience.

If this all sounds great, we would like to hear from you.
