Manager Customer Experience

At the Otago Regional Council we are revolutionising our Customer Experience; how we engage with our communities, our rate-payers and our staff. We are on a journey of transformational change, and the Stakeholder Engagement team are looking for a change champion to take our customer service function and our organisational customer experience forward ‘for our future’.

The Manager Customer Experience is a newly created role borne out of a commitment to a heightened focus on how we can best serve the people of Otago. The role will be an exciting challenge for someone with a passion for people; understanding customer needs and enabling our people to get great results. You will be an experienced customer service professional, ideally with exposure to systems implementation and ongoing analysis, culture change and the development of processes, policy and procedures. You will be using this refined skill set to support and drive improved organisational customer service to ensure the customer journey through ORC is a smooth one.

The Customer Experience team will be instrumental in driving the change to a customer-centric culture at ORC and will require an effective people leader to guide their progress. Leadership in this role will be achieved through engagement, communication and strategic direction; you will foster a safe and inclusive environment for innovation and creative solutions to enable your people in their roles. Following your lead they will become adept at relationship building, and confident in solving queries at first customer contact.
