Fleet and Facilities Advisor

The Opportunity

At the Otago Regional Council, our mission is to support the sustainable management of our environment. We’ve recently made some transformational changes within our organisation, enabling us to focus on how we work together to be sure we can deliver on our promises and continually improve how we serve our communities. We’re not overstating when we say we have some big targets to reach, and now we need the right people, in the right roles, to help us to get there.

The Support Services team at ORC are on the look out for a Fleet and Facilities Advisor to join them in a full time, permanent capacity - supporting them as they strive for excellence in the provision of internal customer service, whilst also delivering in the achievement of great outcomes for our regional rate-payers.

Reporting to the Manager Support Services, this role calls for an expert problem solver; someone who can think on their feet whilst providing exceptional customer service and consistently delivering successful outcomes. You will be the drive behind the day to day operations of Council’s building and fleet management and on-going maintenance, whilst also providing procurement services and liaising closely with outlying offices and depots to make sure everything is running as it should.

About You

To be successful in this role it would be advantageous if you are already experienced in operational coordination, fleet and/or building management, continuous improvement processes and have an eye for detail – as well as a passion for getting things done! You will need to be motivated and enthusiastic, comfortable with making suggestions for improvements, and also confident in negotiating with suppliers and making sure ORC is getting the best deal for our ratepayer’s money.

So, why ORC? Well, we think Otago is an amazing place – to live in, work in and to visit. At the Otago Regional Council, we’re proud to be working each day, together with our communities, to keep it that way for our future.

If you share this passion and can align your skills and experience to what we’ve outlined above, we would love to hear from you!
