Team Leader Compliance - Central Otago

The Opportunity

The Compliance team at ORC are on the look-out for a Team Leader Compliance, located in Central Otago, to join them in a full time, permanent capacity - supporting them as they strive for excellence in the provision of customer service, whilst also delivering in the achievement of great outcomes for our regional rate-payers.

As the Team Leader Compliance, you’ll be reporting into the Manager Compliance, and be responsible for leading a team, in their day to day operations, undertaking consent monitoring, compliance, and community education across the Central Otago district. You will be responsible for mentoring, developing and guiding your team towards achieving significant outcomes for ORC, as well as stepping in to assist with more complex technical matters. You will lead by example through your willingness to help where needed, but also by offering growth opportunities to others.

About You

You be successful in this role, you will need:
• A tertiary qualification in Environmental Management, Science or Public Policy (or equivalent level of on-the-job learning)
• 4+ years’ experience in local government, including the Resource Management Act (RMA), Local Government Act (LGA) and the Building Act
• Experience in project management
• The ability to interpret and operationalise legislation, plans and policy.
• Experience forming meaningful partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.
