Team Leader Consents

The Opportunity

The Consents team at ORC are on the look-out for a Team Leader to join them in a full time, permanent capacity – supporting and mentoring a team of Consents Officers providing consenting services to stakeholders across the Otago region.

The role will see our ideal candidate leading and supporting the team in the provision of consents advice to both internal and external customers. They will also contribute to the development and maintenance of internal procedures; interpretation of national standards and regulations, and regional plans/codes; and the continuous improvement of the consenting process undertaken by ORC.

About You

Our preferred candidate will bring:

  • a passion for leadership;
  • an understanding of water quality issues and farming systems;
  • a relevant tertiary qualification or an equivalent of professional technical ability workflow management experience; and
  • knowledge in interpreting and working with the Resource Management Act (1991) and the Local Government Act.

You will need to be a team player, who feels comfortable stepping in to assist with more complex technical matters, a competent communicator, with the ability to tailor your style and message to different groups.
