Cr Marian Hobbs

Cr Hobbs is Co-Chairperson of the Data and Information Committee, a member of the Chief Executive Performance Review Committee, and appointed to membership of the Port Otago Liaison Working Group, the Catchment Support Advisory Group and Mana to Mana.  She is the FMU and rohe liaison for the Clutha (main stem).



Marian Hobbs is a former cabinet minister and member of parliament, and the current Chair of Heritage New Zealand. She has also worked as a high school principal in New Zealand and the United Kingdom.

Her priorities at the ORC include reducing greenhouse gases by increasing public transport use; ensuring Otago lakes, rivers and wetlands are healthy for humans, animals and the wider ecology; and ensuring Otago plays it part to look after air quality.

Cr Hobbs has two adult children and three young grandchildren living in the USA.
