Free travel to/from your COVID-19 Vaccination

From Monday 4th October, passengers who are using buses in Dunedin and Queenstown to attend their COVID-19 vaccination appointment, will be able to travel for free for a single return trip to their appointment, provided they have a booking and can show the bus driver proof of that booking.

 

Terms and conditions of free travel:

  • Free travel is a single return trip to your vaccination appointment using a bus on a standard scheduled public transport services.
  • If you require a caregiver to accompany you to attend a vaccine appointment your caregiver can also travel for free.
  • Alternatively, if you have dependants that you need to look after (e.g. under 12 years olds) your dependants can also travel for free.
  • You can only use this travel on the day of your appointment, which appears on the booking confirmation.
  • To travel for free, you must show the bus driver your appointment letter (text) (either paper or on your mobile phone).
  • Staff will only be checking that your appointment letter (text) is dated for the day of travel.
  • Face masks and scanning QR codes are mandatory when onboard services and stations, bus stops, and ferry terminals.
