Attending an event in Queenstown?

Queenstown hosts a number of events throughout the year including the Arrowtown Autumn Festival, LUMA, Winter Festival and Air New Zealand Queenstown Marathon.

Catch the bus or ferry!

  • The Orbus network connects the Wakatipu from Jack's Point, Kelvin Peninsula, and Arrowtown to Sunshine Bay, via the Frankton Hub, Frankton Marina and downtown.
  • On the bus the fare is *$2 one way including a free 45 minutes transfer.
  • On the ferry the fare is *$10 one way - please note that no bus transfers are included in this price.
  • The service is frequent so you can get around easily and not worry about parking.
  • There are often additional services, or late services for particular events. Check out the Queenstown Ferries and Orbus Queenstown Facebook pages for up to date information.
  • Catch a bus or ferry to and from the event with fellow event goers.
  • If you have a Bee Card, you get discounted travel. SuperGold card holders and children get additional discounts on the bus service only.
  • If you’re not from the city, you may find it easier to let the bus driver navigate the roads for you. If you can, add a ferry trip into your Queenstown travel and enjoy beautiful views of the town from the lake.
