Suppression of Name and/or Postal Address information from the Rating Information Database

The Local Government (Rating) Act 2002 requires local authorities to give public access to its Rating Information Database (RID).

Key information that the RID must contain for each rating unit (property which you receive a rates account) within the Otago Region includes:

• the name of the owner/s of the rating unit; and
• the postal address of the owner/s of the rating unit.

Every owner has the right individually to make a request (which must be in writing) that his or her name and/or address be removed from the RID.

Ratepayers who wish to have their names and/or postal address withheld in the RID should complete the form below and return it to the Otago Regional Council.
