From 20 April 2026, Route 77 will slightly change the route it takes through South Dunedin, removing the Anderson's Bay Road loop around Pak'nSave / The Warehouse and instead travel through Caversham and via Pak'nSave King Edward Street entrance. 

The bus will:

• turn from King Edward Street at Cargill's Corner onto Hillside Road
• turn onto Burns Street
• turn onto South Road 
• turn onto State Highway 1, and continue normal route.

It currently travels via Princes Street from Cargill’s Corner, turns onto Hillside Road, and enters SH1 at Andersons Bay Road.

Passengers will be able to get on and off the bus stops along this route, currently used by Route 5 and/or Route 33:

The new route still allows easy access to Pak 'n Save. See map below of the new route. 

We have changed the route to help speed up trips; there is less traffic congestion on the new route, which will mean faster trips for passengers.
