Valid from Monday, Dec 20, 2021 3:19 PM

ROUTE BACK TO NORMAL FRIDAY 21ST JANUARY
From Friday morning, route 18 will be back to following the normal route & timetable. There is likely to be delays of up to 15 minutes with stop/go traffic management.
Thanks for your patience with this :)
From Monday 17th Jan - Thursday 20th Jan, Portobello Rd will be closed between Marne St and Company Bay.
Route 18 will need to detour from Company Bay - along Castlewood Rd and Highcliff Rd, coming out at Marne St, for the duration of the works, and will operate a modified timetable.
The first/last stop serviced along the normal route is Portobello Rd, Luss Rd (Company Bay) - in both directions. Macandrew Bay is unable to be serviced during the closure hours.
Because of the nature of this diversion, route 18 will be running smaller vehicles for this time. These vehicles are unfortunately not accessible for wheelchairs and do not have bike racks, but can facilitate prams onboard.

The road is closed from 9am -5pm, outside of these times the road is open and routes operating as normal.

In the morning, the last services operating to their normal timetable/route are:

0808 from Hub - likely to be running in a smaller van but on normal route.

0827 from Portobello - likely to be running in a smaller van but on normal route.

In the afternoon first services on normal timetable/route are:

1639 from Hub to Portobello will run later at 1650 on the normal route.

1657 from Portobello to Hub will run on time on normal route.

During the closure hours, we will operate small vans on route 18, on the following timetable:

IMPORTANT TO NOTE:

  • The smaller vans we are operating do NOT have wheelchair access

  • Services outside of these hours, and that mentioned above will operate as normal, normal route and timings
  • The detour won’t appear in the Transit app, but there will be a service alert on there.
  • These smaller buses won’t appear in Transit because these aren’t equipped with our tracking devices unfortunately.
Please plan your trip accordingly for this in advance. Apologies for the inconvenience.

Frederick St diversion

Valid from Monday, Dec 20, 2021 3:00 PM

🚧UPDATE 4.20PM 14/01🚧
Route 50 detour will now be going straight down George St and St Andrew St. This means the temporary stops on Hanover St for route 50 will no longer be in use. Passengers needing access to the hospital should transfer to route 63 at the hub, or walk from George St.
Unfortunately we had to make this decision due to the intersection layout not working for buses turning left onto Hanover St.

From Tuesday 11 Jan until April, part of Frederick St will be closed and the intersection of Frederick/Great King affected. This means there will be detours in place for routes 50 and 63.

Route 50 will travel along George St and Hanover St in both directions. There will be temporary stops configured by the intersection of Hanover and Great King St (outside 65 & 50 Hanover St).

Route 63 toward Logan Park will need to travel right onto Hanover, then link onto the one way heading north. There will be a temporary stop outside the Early Childhood Centre (corner Hanover/Great King St) here.

Route 63 toward Balaclava is not affected.

For the duration of the work, Hospital North Stop will be out of service, but the temporary stops on Hanover St will be close by access to the Hospital.
