🚧 Stevenson Ave Detour - Sawyers Bay 🚧

From Monday 8th August, until the 7th of October, the stops at Stevenson Ave 54 & 59 will be closed.

This is due to a closure along Stevenson Rd.

The bus will detour via Mill St, Blackman Ave, Hall Rd and Station Rd.

There will be temporary stops located along Station Rd at approximately #7 and opposite #7.

There will also be temporary stops at approximately numbers 4 & 9 Blackman Ave.

Please note that this diversion may cause some minor delays to the service.

There will be updates to this detour in the coming weeks as some changes occur in the area - we thank passengers for their patience during this time.

🚧 Albany St Work from 2 August 🚧

From Tuesday 2nd August, work is starting on Albany St for the hot water upgrades. This work is going to be running over several months in sections. We will update you as sections change and bus routes are affected.

The first section has city bound buses will be detouring away from Albany St, using Clyde St and Frederick St.

This affects routes: 14 (toward City), 38 (toward Concord) and route 63 (toward Balaclava).

Routes toward Port Chalmers, University and Logan Park are unaffected.

The stop at Albany St, Clubs and Societies will be closed for the duration of this work.

There will be temporary stops setup:

  • On Clyde St, before the intersection with Albany St
  • On Frederick St, outside number 126.

From the 15th of July, until approximately September, part of Harrington St in Port Chalmers will be inaccessible.

While this work is on, the bus will not travel along Magnetic St or Harrington St (until Burns St).

The bus will take a detour, via Mary St, Wickliffe Terrace and Burns St to return to its normal route.

The detour is the same in both directions.

Closed stops during this work:

* Magnetic St 4, 34 and 35

* Harrington St 26 and 27

Temporary stops during this detour:

* 16 Mary St

* 67 Wickliffe Terrace

* Wickliffe Terrace, opposite 55

* 8 and 9 Burns St

Weekdays

Hourly service from 8:10am until 11:10pm with additional trips at 6:10am, 6:40am, 7:30am, 7:50am, 8:20am and 4:40pm.

Weekends

Saturday: Hourly service from 8:10am to 11:10pm. Sunday: Hourly service from 9:10am to 6:10pm.

Route description

To travel from Port Chalmers terminus (Harrington Street, corner Meridian Street) head down Harrington Street, into Magnetic Street, and then Grey Street. Turn left onto George Street, then right into Borlases Road, and continue straight onto Stevenson Avenue. At the roundabout, take the first exit onto Station Road, then turn right onto Dunedin Port Chalmers Road (State Highway 88). Turn left up Shandon Street, then right into Reeve Street, right into District Road, and then left back onto Dunedin Port Chalmers Road (State Highway 88), which then becomes Ravensbourne Road (State Highway 88). Turn right onto St Leonards Drive - Burkes Drive, left onto Finch Street and turn right onto Ravensbourne Road (State Highway 88). Turn right at the Stadium round-a-bout to use Anzac Avenue and turn right onto Union Street East, then left onto Clyde Street. Turn right onto Albany Street and left onto Gowland Street and it will change name to Castle Street (State Highway 1). Turn right into St Andrew Street and left into the Great King Street bus hub.
