From 20 April 2026, Route 77 will slightly change the route it takes through South Dunedin, removing the Anderson's Bay Road loop around Pak'nSave / The Warehouse and instead travel through Caversham and via Pak'nSave King Edward Street entrance. 

The bus will:

• turn off State Highway 1 at South Road (through Caversham)
• turn onto Burns Street
• turn onto Hillside Road
• then turn at Cargill’s Corner onto Princes Street. 

It currently exits SH1 at Andersons Bay Road, turns at Hillside Road, then onto Princes Street at Cargill’s Corner.

Passengers will be able to get on and off the bus stops along this route, currently used by Route 5 and/or route 33: 

• South Road, 350
• South Road, 252
• South Road, 226
• South Road, 172
• Burns Street, Placemakers
• Hillside Road, 406
• Hillside Road, 200

The new route still allows easy access to Pak 'nSave. See map below of the new route. 

We have changed the route to help speed up trips; there is less traffic congestion on the new route, which will mean faster trips for passengers.
