The Opportunity

We are looking for a Procurement and Contracts Coordinator to join our Support Services team on a fixed term (12 months), full time (37.5 hours per week) basis, in our busy Dunedin office.

The purpose of this position is to effectively coordinate procurement, contract administration processes and support with daily operation and management of plant, fleet, property and buildings for the Fleet and Facilities Team. The role will be responsible for establishing new contracts and updating existing contracts for goods and/or supply of services for Council.

As a Procurement and Contracts Coordinator, you will be responsible for:

  • Managing the purchase order and invoicing process on behalf of the team
  • Proactively work to implement new and update existing contracts to attain best price with continuous deliverable improvement, price reductions and/or cost avoidance
  • Manage and coordinate contractors within scope to ensure deadlines are met; risks are identified and escalated when necessary
  • Liaising, coordinating and where required support building and fleet maintenance contractors

About You

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • A tertiary Qualification in business administration, procurement, Contract or Project Management, and/or substantial equivalent experience within local government
  • A full driver’s license
  • Experience in purchase order systems
  • Experience following administration procedures
  • Proven Customer Service excellence and working in a team
