Something Fishy in the Gardens

Are you looking for school holiday activities? ORC is involved in a couple of free events at the Science Festival in Dunedin.

Through electro-fishing, fyke netting and fish IDs learn about the importance of healthy rivers to healthy communities. See fresh water fish and stream invertebrate displays with a focus on stream health.

Matt Dale 

Matt Dale is the Senior Advisor (Freshwater management) for Te Runanaga o Ngāi Tahu. Matt provides technical support and advice to Ngāi Tahu’s 18 Papatipu Rūnanga (sub-tribes) around freshwater ecology and mahinga kai management, helping them enact their role as Kaitiakitanga (stewards/guardians) of Te Ao Tūroa (the natural world).

 

Cost : Free

Children under 10 years old to be accompanied by an adult.  Please wear warm clothes and good footwear.
