Confronting Climate Change

2030 and Beyond

Dunedin is stepping up to the climate crisis, and preparing to tackle the challenges our city will face in the coming years. In June this year, Dunedin City Council declared a climate emergency; joining communities, and governments around the world in recognising the urgency of this threat.

But what action is actually happening here in Dunedin? A panel of speakers will present four talks, followed by an open Q&A session.

Dunedin Net Carbon Zero 2030 How do we reduce climate change impacts and adapt to a changing environment? What are the climate change risks to Dunedin, how do we understanding our city’s emissions, and what are the opportunities in the climate change challenge? Community Engagement Many of New Zealand’s urban settlements are likely to be impacted by climate change, and local authorities will need to adopt new approaches to engage with communities.
