Land Occupiers in the Allanton area are being invited to a drop-in session next month to discuss rabbit management.

ORC Councillor Andrew Noone, who is also portfolio co-lead for Environmental Delivery, says ORC staff are scheduled in early-September to begin rabbit inspections in the Allanton area.

“As a land occupier in the Allanton area, ORC would like to invite you to a drop-in workshop to encourage a collaborative approach and provide opportunities for land occupiers to ask questions around rabbit management,” Cr Noone says.

“The meeting provides an opportunity for the community to learn about effective rabbit management, and enables the ORC to gain a deeper understanding of local issues”.

Ultimately, it is the land occupier’s responsibility to control rabbits on their land.

The drop-in workshop on 17 September will cover:

  • Rabbit management obligations.

  • Presentation on best-practice rabbit control methods.

  • Available support and guidance.

  • The compliance process.

  • Connection to industry professionals.
