The Opportunity

We are looking for an Enviroschools Regional Coordinator (Central Otago) to join our Partnerships and Engagement team on a permanent, part time (20 hours per week) basis, in our one of our Central Otago offices (Queenstown or Wanaka or Alexandra or Cromwell).

The purpose of this role is to help lead the Enviroschools kaupapa from a regional perspective and champion environmental initiatives that prioritise inclusion, diversity, and sustainable practices. This role, based in Central Otago, works closely with the Enviroschools Regional Coordinator Lead to ensure the integrity and visibility of Enviroschools across the whole region.

As a Enviroschools Regional Coordinator, you will be responsible for:

  • Working closely with the Regional Coordinator Lead and with all regional participants and the Enviroschools National team to support the strategic direction of Enviroschools
  • Working with Central Otago and Queenstown Lakes facilitators to organise and run regular hui for teacher professional development and student extension experiences
  • Leading and championing the Enviroschools holistic reflection process for schools across Otago
  • Providing support for schools to explore and take action on specific environmental or sustainability linked issues

About You

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • A tertiary qualification in education or environmental management or related field
  • At least 3 years’ experience in an education role and/or experience of working with New Zealand schools
  • Experience leading a team and working across sectors
  • A current driver’s licence
  • Experience in building collaborative and effective relationship and have influence within all levels of the organisation
  • Strong organisational skills and processes

Approx. salary is $76,000 - $90,000 (pro rata for part time hours)
