The Taiari/Taieri* Catchment Action Plan is a 10-year, non-regulatory plan to protect and enhance freshwater and biodiversity across the catchment.
It was co-developed by the Taiari/Taieri Integrated Catchment Group bringing together mana whenua, community, catchment and conservation groups, industry, Department of Conservation and Otago Regional Council.
This is the second public check-in, following March's feedback on environmental, community and cultural values and the vision. We are now seeking feedback on the Taiari/Taieri Catchment Action Plan.
The plan supports coordinated action across the catchment, building on existing work and local knowledge and capability. It focuses on practical steps we can take now, while working towards larger-scale recovery and investment over time.
The plan includes seven strategies and one place-based project. We would like to know whether you agree these are the key focus areas needed to support catchment recovery.
