The below are the Otago Regional Council (The council) terms and conditions for the Wilding Conifer Merchandise Giveaway that is being run via The council's July 2025 issue of the monthly online newsletter, On Stream.

Entrants must be a resident of the Otago area. 

A resident of Otago is a person who physically resides in the Otago area for at least six months of a rolling 12-month period. 

To enter to win one of three prizes of a wilding conifer merchandise pack, a person must submit an original photo of themselves removing a wilding conifer tree or seedling via email to onstream@orc.govt.nz by Friday, 1 August 2025.

The contents of the 'wilding conifer merchandise pack' (known hereby as ‘the prize’) can consist of:
• One cap
• One water bottle
• One bandana

Only one entry is allowed per individual person.

Three individual winners will be randomly drawn from the valid entries.

An individual winner is entitled to only one instance of the prize.

The prize contents can be subject to change.

Any submitted photos generated using artificial intelligence will not be accepted nor valid for this giveaway. 

Council staff and their family are not permitted to enter this promotion. The prizes are not transferable to another person. The prizes are not exchangeable for cash.

The council will notify the winner via email. The winner has seven days to communicate with the council to claim their prize and how they would like to receive the prize:

(a) Pick up the prize from either one of our two customer service offices located at the following addresses:

  • Philip Laing House Level 2, 144 Rattray Street (corner Princes Street) 
    Dunedin 9016 
  • Alta House, Level 1, Terrace Junction, 1092 Frankton Road 
    Queenstown 9300

(b) Have the prize delivered to their address within the Otago region.

The council reserves the right to modify or terminate the giveaway at any time at its discretion. This promotion is not sponsored or endorsed by any third party.
