The Opportunity

We are looking for a Project Manager to join our Engineering on a permanent, full time (37.5 hours per week) basis, in our busy Dunedin office.

The purpose of this position is assisting the Team Leader Assets and Delivery and Manager to deliver infrastructure projects and contracts.

As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Determining and defining project scope and objectives and ensure project deliverables are met
  • Developing and managing detailed project schedule and work plans
  • Managing Flood Protection infrastructure projects using standard project management processes
  • Manage contracts with suppliers and contractors to undertake professional services and construction works
  • Coordinating multi-disciplined teams of internal and external resources to achieve agreed objectives
  • Building and maintaining effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders

About You

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • A degree level tertiary qualification in Engineering (Civil) or similar experience
  • Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and/or Prince2 Practitioner
  • 5+ years’ experience in civil engineering, project or contract management within the public sector
  • Experience in the interpretation and application of contracts
  • Ability to work in a complex environment, deal with ambiguity and across functions
