8. MATTERS FOR COUNCIL CONSIDERATION

8.1 ELECTION OF NEW DEPUTY CHAIRPERSON FOR ORC

The report was provided to advise the Council of the procedure to elect a new deputy chairperson following the resignation of Councillor Laws, and to nominate and elect a new deputy chairperson.

8.2 CODE OF CONDUCT

The report was provided for Council to consider revisions to the code of conduct for the Otago Regional Council.

8.3 ORDER OF CANDIDATE NAMES ON VOTING PAPERS

The report outlines the three options available to order candidate names on voting documents for the 8 October 2022 election and any subsequent by-elections.

8.4 LAND AND WATER GOVERNANCE GROUP STRUCTURE

This paper updates the Governance Group structure for the Land and Water Regional Plan (LWRP), providing a permanent seat for Ngāi Tahu ki Murihiku.

8.5 PLAN CHANGE 8 RURAL PROVISIONS APPROVAL

Council is asked to approve part of Plan Change 8 (PC8) Discharge Management to the Water Plan, as amended by the Environment Court Decision [2022] NZEnvC 61, and set a date to make the plan change partially operative.

8.8 BRIEFING ON NATIONAL ADAPTATION PLAN CONSULTATION

Advisory report on MfE’s consultation: “Adapt and Thrive” draft National Adaptation Plan and Managed Retreat.

8.9 EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT PARTNERSHIP AGREEMENT
