2. Matters for Council Consideration

2.1 Declaration of Office by Councillors

Councillors-elect will take the declaration as required by Schedule 7, Clause 14 of the Local Government Act 2002.

2.2 Voting System for Certain Appointments

The report is provided to inform the Councillors of the two voting options for the election of the Chairperson and Deputy Chairperson, as defined by Schedule 7, Section 25 of the Local Government Act 2002. Once the voting procedures have been determined, the Chief Executive will then call for nominations for Chairperson.

2.3 Election of Chairperson

The report is provided to receive nominations for, and election of, a Chairperson.

2.4 Election of Deputy Chairperson

The report is provided to receive nominations for, and election of, a Deputy Chairperson.

2.5 Councillor Legal Briefing

The report provides the Council with a summary of the legislative requirements that the Otago Regional Councillors need to be aware of and understand as elected members of the Council.

2.6 Meetings for 2022

The report is provided for Council to agree the meeting dates for the remainder of the year.
