The Opportunity

We are looking for a Procurement and Contracts Coordinator to join our Environmental Implementation Support team on a permanent, full time (37.5 hours) basis in our busy Dunedin office.

The purpose of this position is to effectively coordinate procurement and contract administration processes for the Environmental Delivery Group of the Otago Regional Council. The main objectives of the role are to ensure that all procurement within the Group is carried out in accordance with Council Policy and to simplify procurement processes.

As a Procurement and Contracts Coordinator, you will be responsible for:

  • Managing the administration of raising purchase requisitions and receipting invoices
  • Assisting with preparing supplier contract documentation, maintaining Council’s contracts register and providing reporting as required
  • Providing coordination and administrative support to procurement projects from planning through to delivery
  • Ensuring all procurement activities undertaken meet Council’s policies and procedures
  • Supporting effective internal and external relationship management

About You

  • Experienced in an administrative role and/or procurement or contract establishment environment
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with exceptional attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to build effective relationships with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Skilled at problem-solving and have the ability to meet deadlines
  • An understanding of the customer experience and understanding the importance of the customer
