To support the implementation of the Head of Lake Whakatipu Natural Hazards Adaptation Strategy, Otago Regional Council, working close with partners, will develop a range of resources for effective implementation. These include: 

  • Guidance documents for key implementation activities. 
  • Updates on relevant regional and national adaptation developments. 

Investigations and reports

The natural hazards adaptation programme has produced a range of research and reports over the years. These documents provide valuable insights into local natural hazard risks and support informed decision-making. Strategy Implementation and Progress

Implementation of the Head of Lake Whakatipu Natural Hazards Adaptation Strategy will begin in mid-2025, led by Otago Regional Council and its partners including Queenstown Lakes District Council and the community. Progress updates will be provided regularly.
