This report presents findings from a 2021 groundwater investigation on the Clutha delta. It explores the area's geological history, including sediment layers, radiocarbon dating, and past sea level changes, and highlights potential natural hazards such as earthquake-induced liquefaction. The study also assesses long-term land movement and its minor contribution to future sea level rise in the region.
