Help shape the future of the Inland Mata-Au/Clutha environment. Join us 18 May to learn more.

We’re bringing together people from across the catchment — along with mana whenua and agencies — to develop a practical, non-regulatory plan for our environment.

Together, we’ll focus on what matters most and which actions will make the greatest difference. Join us to hear more, ask questions and find out how you can be involved.

Monday 18May 2026
6:30–7:30pm

At this session you will:

  • Learn what the catchment action plan is and how it works
  • Understand how you can be involved
  • Find out how to submit an Expression of Interest

The plan spans from the Pomahaka to Clinton and through to Balclutha, from Beaumont to Lawrence and Milton, and out to the coast — from the Mata-Au/Clutha Mouth to Toko Mouth and up to Taieri Mouth, extending 12 nautical miles offshore. It’s a large, connected landscape, and a collective approach will make a real difference.

An in-person session is held earlier in the week:

Tuesday 12 May 2026
3:30–4:30pm

Cross Recreation Centre,
18 Glasgow Street,
Balclutha

The ORC is establishing an Lower Mata-Au/Clutha Integrated Catchment Group to help co-develop the Catchment Action Plan (CAP), focused on protecting and enhancing ecosystems across the whole area - from the mountains to the sea (ki uta ki tai).

If you’re connected to the catchment and want to be involved, we encourage you to submit an expression of interest.
