We’re hosting a community session online — it’s your opportunity to join us, ask questions and let us know how you think pests should be managed across our region over the next 10 years.

This is part of the review of Otago’s Regional Pest Management Plan (RPMP). 

• Date: Tuesday, 30 June 2026
• Time: 3pm–6pm
• Location: Online via Zoom 

Our biosecurity and policy teams will be there to answer your questions about pests.

What will be discussed at the online session: 

• Overview of the Regional Pest Management Plan 
• Timeline of the review 
• The different pest programmes within the plan 
• Summary of the community feedback received so far 
• Breakout spaces. 

Come and have your say — your feedback will help shape the draft RPMP before formal consultation begins next year.

Reading the discussion document before giving your feedback means you'll be sharing an informed opinion, with a better understanding of what the draft recommendations will mean for you.

You'll see information that includes:

• draft recommended management approaches for some pest species where we have a reasonable level of certainty of the best approach
• the proposed approach for some pest species still under review while we seek more information
• some additional information for spotlight species to help inform your input on the best management approach for these pests.
