Rivers throughout Otago are running low at present, and we are asking people to conserve water and use it efficiently if taking from rivers, lakes or streams.
Despite some rain mid-week, Otago faces extremely dry conditions which could, if they continue, require a difficult water shortage direction from us.
The NIWA forecast for the next few weeks is for Otago’s weather to be dryer than in previous years.
