MfE's freshwater proposals - update on ORC's submission
ORC will be making a submission on MfE's freshwater proposals. We support the intention of the proposed NPSFM, as we understand that good water quality and healthy river flows are part of the way of life for New Zealanders. We will be taking some time to understand the full implications of the proposals on our community however, and intend to prepare some case studies that highlight the good work catchment and community groups are doing, and also some of the "on-the-ground impacts" of the proposals. We intend to complete our submission and share it with you by 25 October.
We will be hosting a live event on our Facebook page about how to make a submission on 10 October at 7pm. Please email us questions you would like answered at this event by 12 noon on 9 October. The questions and answers will be available on our website after the event.
